Connect to Static IP
Setup
The PC and reader must be connected to the same network.
Remember to power the reader with a POE injector.
Windows guide
Connect the AdvanReader-150 or AdvanReader-60 and the computer to the same network.
If not yet known, find your reader IP: Scan Device IP (For this example we will assume a reader configured with the static IP 192.168.7.129)
Configure the new IP of your Ethernet interface to 192.168.7.X (In order to set a valid IP, see
Right-click on the network icon and Open Network and Sharing Center.
Select Change adapter settings.
Find the USB interface and go to Properties by right-clicking.
Right-click on the network icon and Open Network and Sharing Center.
Select Change adapter settings.
Find the USB interface and go to Properties by right-clicking.
Go to IPv4 Properties.
Set the static IP to 192.168.7.10 and the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
The IP of the reader is 192.168.7.2.
Open a web browser on 192.168.7.2:3161, if there is no response:
Which static IP should I give to my Ethernet interface?
Imagine you have a reader configured with the static IP -> 192.168.7.129
We recommend configuring a Static PC IP were the 3 first values of the IP matching the IP of the Keonn's device:
IPv4: 192.168.7.X
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
The X value must be replaced with a numerical value ranging from 2 to 254:
Value 1 should be avoided it is usually used as the default gateway.
Value 255 should be avoided as it is used for broadcast purposes.
Value 129 (applied for this particular example) cannot be used as it is the IP of the reader we want to access,
Avoid any value that might result on a duplicate IP on your network (Remember, every device inside your network must have a unique IP).
Unable to connect to my device
If at this point you are not able to connect to the device, we recommend trying the connection option: Direct USB connection
