Direct USB connection
Introduction
The direct USB connection has been tested on Windows 7,10 and Ubuntu 12.04. For Linux systems, it works without any installation, but for windows 10 there are some steps to do (steps might slightly differ for other Windows versions).
Setup
In order to use the USB connection, please follow these steps:
Power up the device (AdvanReader-150 or AdvanReader-60) with a PoE cable.
Wait for the beep
Connect the computer and the device by using the type B USB cable.
Configure the network interface according to your Operating system
Using Windows
Windows should detect a device without being able to find the drivers.
Depending on the operating system:
Using Windows 8, 10, 11: install the drivers manually downloading them here: driver. Uncompress the file, right click on the file linux.inf and select "install".
2nd option under win XP, Vista and 7: download the driver from here and install it. (You can try it on win 8 and 10 if you know how to install unsigned drivers)
3rd option, for 32 bit windows installations. Download the driver from here and install it.
Reboot the PC.
Configure the new adapter IP to 192.168.7.10:
Right-click on the network icon and Open Network and Sharing Center.
Select Change adapter settings.
Find the USB interface and go to Properties by right-clicking.
Go to IPv4 Properties.
Set the static IP to 192.168.7.10 and the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

The IP of the reader is 192.168.7.2.
Open a web browser on 192.168.7.2:3161, if there is no response:
