What's new
Introduction
The AdvanNet Manager web application has been fully redesigned and modernized to include new features and enhance the user's experience. This new version has been adapted for mobile devices, and thus can be used from mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. It has been developed making the most of the latest technologies in web development.
To access the new GUI:
Discover your device's IP
Write the IP on your browser (no port required)
New design
The overall structure of the site has been replaced for a left sidebar menu, and a main content on the right. This way, we have more space for the content:
Responsiveness
The new version of the GUI is responsive, which means the content will be adapted to the user's screen. You will not need to zoom in to read the text, and the buttons are touch-friendly.
New Features
Dashboard
The greatest feature on this new GUI is the modular Dashboard page, which provides a full device's status summary. At a glance, you will be able to diagnose the reader in search of problems such as:
Status error
No internet connection
Disabled services
No free space on the disk
Unexpectedly high module temperatures
Etc.
The buttons on the top-right of the screen allows the user to quickly:
Export any configuration (device, services...)
Import any configuration
Reset the device to factory defaults
Reset the device data (CSV...)
Be aware that the stats are not initially available when powering the device up, and you will need to wait for some more seconds in order to see them.
Notifications
Another relevant feature is the use of simple and clean notifications. They are placed on the bottom right of the screen, and represent the result of a user action. Most of them close automatically after few seconds. It is also possible, though, to close them by clicking on the small semi-transparent close button.
That is, after changing any parameter, or saving the configuration, you will receive some feedback by means of a small notification, so you can check that the configuration was saved successfully. An example would be :
Alarms
When using alarm modes on previous versions, checking the EPCs that caused the alarm was not a straigthforward procedure. However, on this new version, you will receive the alarms as a notification, on the bottom right part of the screen:
Monitoring
Monitoring the tags read is easier than ever, as the new AdvanNet Manager contains a full page dedicated to it:
Start or stop the RF operation by clicking on the squared button, and check the current Status, Device mode and Read mode on the right.
Quickly check how many tags have been read by looking at the new counters on the top right corner of the screen:
The Current counter refers to the tags currently being read. The number coincides with the number of elements displayed on the monitor table, and can increase or decrease depending on the tags read.
The Total counter refers to the unique tags read since you last started the RF operation, and can only be increased. Each time you restart the RF operation, this counter is also restarted.
Visualize the tags read on a full width table with sortable columns, even when the RF is started.
Show or hide unnecessary columns on the Columns dropdown:
Quickly read or write Tag data by clicking, once the RF is stopped, on a TAG.
