Direct Ethernet connection
Setup
The PC and reader must be connected by an Ethernet cable:
Connect he PoE injector IN socket to the PC
Connect the PoE injector OUT socket to the reader
By default, the reader comes up configured by DHCP. If you have previously configured the reader with a static IP, you will have to turn it into DHCP again.
Windows guide
Set computer Ethernet interface IP to Static
Configure the new IP of your Ethernet interface to 192.168.1.X:
1. Right-click on the network icon and Open Network and Sharing Center.
2. Select Change adapter settings.
3. Find the USB interface and go to Properties by right-clicking:
4. Go to IPv4 Properties:
5. Set the static IP to 192.168.1.2 (for example) and the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
Your PC is now configured with the static IP 192.168.1.2
Configure a DHCP server on your computer
Download and open the PC utility DHCP Server (tested with dhcpsrv2.5.2)
1. Power on Keonn's device
2. Configure the DHCP server:
2.1. Run the file dhcpwiz.exe as an administrator
2.2. Select the interface, it should have the DHCP disabled, and click next
2.3. In File Server Protocols, check HTTP (Web Server)
2.4. Configure the range of IP's that the computer will give
2.5. Write the INI file
2.6. Click on Finish
Make sure DHCP is disabled and click Next
In File Server Protocols, check HTTP (Web Server)
Configure the range of IP's that the computer will give

3. Power off the device.
4. Start DHCP Server utility. Run the file dhcpsrv.exe as an administrator:
In Firewall exceptions, click Configure and then click "Continue as tray app" (do not install it)
5. Power on the device.
6. The DHCP Server will list and flag the assigned IP to the device.
After this process, you should be able to connect to your reader using the IP flagged by your DHCP server.
Which static IP should I give to my Ethernet interface?
We recommend using a 24 bits subnet mask so that:
IPv4: 192.168.1.X
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
The X value must be replaced with a numerical value ranging from 2 to 254:
Value 1 should be avoided, it is usually used as the default gateway.
Value 255 should be avoided as it is used for broadcast purposes.
Avoid any value that might result on a duplicate IP on your network (Remember, every device inside your network must have a unique IP).
Unable to connect to my device
If at this point you are not able to connect to the device, we recommend trying the connection option: Direct USB connection
