Read Modes

Fundamental Read Modes

All of our read modes are build on the foundation of two read modes:

  • AUTONOMOUS:

    • The reader reads continuously and autonomously using all antennas at its disposal.

    • Is the best approach for reading speed.

    • It works best in applications when asynchronously reporting the data read: portals, read points, etc.

  • SEQUENTIAL:

    • The reader performs inventories on demand. It reads through all antennas in an orderly fashion spending equal time in each one.

    • It works best in applications when synchronously polling the reader for data: smart cabinets, fridges, etc.

Loss prevention read modes

All loss prevention read modes build upon AUTONOMOUS to trigger a sonorous/visual alarm.

  • EPC_EAS_ALARM: When a tag is read that fullfills the filters set in place, the reader triggers the alarm.

  • HTTP_EAS_ALARM: An external HTTP server is polled to know wether triggering the alarm or not is in order.

  • SQL_EAS_ALARM: The reader queries an SQL database prior triggering the alarm. The number of records returned by the query decides if the alarm will go off.

All _200_ read modes do the same as the non 200 ones but use Keonn's beam steering technology to reduce the number of false alarms.

Inventory and Tracking

All loss prevention read modes build upon AUTONOMOUS to trigger a sonorous/visual alarm.

  • SCAN: a.k.a AUTONOMOUS for reporting to AdvanCloud

  • Dynamic Inventory: Throws events when new tags are detected or tags are removed from the range of the reader. Allows controlling a large amount of tags but isn't fast reporting changes.
